El proyecto LIFE Garachico estuvo presente el pasado domingo 24 de septiembre en la Feria \u00abArucas y el Mar\u00bb, organizada por la Concejal\u00eda de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Arucas entre los d\u00edas 19 y 30 de este mes, con el objetivo de poner en valor los recursos naturales y marinos del litoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission was to provide local people with greater knowledge about how the ocean works and the local consequences of climate change. Through informative and participatory activities, we seek to raise awareness about this global problem and provide information on effective initiatives for adaptation to coastal flooding in similar environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Sunday, the LIFE Garachico project joined groups, associations and other entities to disseminate activities related to adverse coastal events. Our colleagues from the University of La Laguna and Elittoral had the opportunity to publicize the project and carry out interactive activities to explain how the ocean works and inspire the little ones to create their own postcards of the beautiful sea from Arucas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featured activities<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

QR Code and Brochures<\/em>: Our stand had a QR code that linked to the project website and the Newsletter, providing visitors with a continuous source of information. We also offered informational brochures to take home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ocean Puzzle<\/em>: To understand how the ocean works, we put together a puzzle that incorporated key information about the characteristics of the oceans, the generation of waves and the functioning of the tides. It was an interactive activity that involved people of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Postcard Creation<\/em>: For the youngest, we promoted creativity by creating postcards inspired by the beautiful sea of Arucas. This activity was not only educational, but also served as a tangible reminder of the importance of caring for our marine environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La participaci\u00f3n en la Feria \u00abArucas y el Mar\u00bb fue un paso significativo en nuestro compromiso de fomentar la conciencia del cambio clim\u00e1tico en las zonas costeras.
