Throughout this year, staff from GRAFCAN and the University of La Laguna have been mapping the Garachico coast to characterize its level of exposure and vulnerability to coastal flooding and evaluating the population's perception of risk.
For this they have carried out field visits, identifying goods, infrastructure and uses. Key social and political actors have also been interviewed and a first survey of the local population has been carried out.
These works are part of the preparatory actions for LIFE Garachico and are the first steps in this exciting and innovative project where citizen participation is a key element.
