In recent months, the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, together with the Too Big To Ignore (TBTI) network, launched a call for the publication of a book on Interactive Governance, which will be published in 2024 under the prestigious Springer publishing label. .
This book will commemorate 20 years since the publication of fish for life, a seminal work by political scientist Jan Kooiman of the University of Amsterdam, who pioneered the theory of interactive governance in Europe.
Researchers from the University of La Laguna joined this initiative with a chapter proposal titled Governance against uncertainty: Coastal flooding adaptation through active participation. This work was recently presented in Canada by Professor José Pascual Fernández, who highlighted that the proposal was very well received by attendees.
The presentation addressed innovative adaptation strategies to coastal flooding through the active participation of communities, highlighting the importance of interactive governance in managing risks and uncertainties.
