To answer this question we have made the first informative video of the LIFE Garachico project, where it is explained that the consequences of climate change are increasingly palpable and that coastal areas suffer from it, since the rise in sea level brings with it strong waves and even floods that affect the way of life in these regions. We invite you to view it and comment on it by linking to our channel Youtube.
LIFE Garachico is a project co-financed in a 55% by the LIFE program of the European Union that acts in the Canary Islands (Garachico and Puerto de la Cruz) and in the Azores (Praia de Vitória) to put into practice, evaluate and disseminate new ideas directed between local and regional administrations to adapt to this reality with citizen participation .
Led by the Vice-Ministry of Fight against Climate Change and Ecological Transition of the Government of the Canary Islands, the project has eleven partners in its partnership and has the vocation to export the resulting methodology to other coastal enclaves.
