Last Wednesday, November 16, the IHCantabria technicians presented the LIFE Garachico project to a delegation from Cuba. During said meeting, the objectives of the project and the methodologies developed for its achievement were shown, as well as the state of progress and preliminary results for the pilot case of Garachico (Tenerife, Spain). The Cuban delegation has shown great interest in this project given that Cuba, as an island, presents a similar problem in the Malecón in Havana, where a project is already being developed whose line of work is similar to that of the LIFE Garachico.

The Cuban delegation, made up of Dr. C. Maritza García (President of the Environment Agency, CITMA), MSc. Rudy Montero (Director of the Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy, CITMA) and Yadira González (Head of the international cooperation project "Adaptation Plan for the coastal zone of Havana - AdaptHabana"), have visited IHCantabria (Santander, Spain) within the framework of the exchange of experiences in adaptation plans to climate change for the Environment Agency (AMA) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) of Cuba.
