These past few weeks a key meeting for the LIFE Garachico project took place at the University of La Laguna, where the results of the Second wave of surveys on social perception of coastal flood risk in the municipality. This analysis is essential to understand how citizens perceive climate threats and to advance effective adaptation measures.
The meeting was attended by project partners and experts in sociology, anthropology and environmental management, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to addressing the challenges arising from climate change. In addition, a preliminary proposal for a social risk perception index was presented, which will combine data obtained from the surveys carried out during phases Q1 and Q2.
